I am the kind of nice that always gets taken advantaged of, for example, lets say were in a long line at the grocery store and I notice you have like two things, I usually say, "Go Ahead".

I am the kind of nice that if your waiting in line to use the bathroom, and I see you doing the Potty Dance, I say, "Go Ahead".

I am the kind of nice that tells you, " your hair looks amazing" when no one else has bothered to notice.

I am the kind of nice that even if I HATE what you want to do for fun, I am right there by your side, laughing at all the fun you are having.

I wonder where this stems from, I hope it goes away, it's like that doormat, lets just wipe our feet on it over and over. Let's kick some dirt on it.

A old man at Marsh today, while I was paying our Electric bill, bought me a lotto ticket, he said, " sweety you have the nicest eyes I have ever seen!" .... nice
so I scratched and won... a free ticket.. and said, "This is for you, that was the nicest thing an adult has done for me today".. he scratches and wins $1000.00... smiles, and says " NICE"
I walked away... then stopped and said, "Donate some of that money to Childhood Cancer reasearch, Please!"
What the fuck? REally, like I said I am too fuckin Nice.
Ya know, I can really relate to this at the moment. It really seems to me at the moment that being nice doesn't really get you anywhere.....nobody likes a goody two shoes, nobody likes to be shown up, and nobody likes someone being nice to them when they don't deserve it. And on the big world scale, nobody who's nice seems to 'make it'. Maybe we're just fighting the tide!! Maybe we should become bad arses, and try the 'treat em mean, keep em keen' approach!!
ReplyDeleteI have found that being nice doesn't get me far in life either, but I can't help it! No one is able to beat the nice out of me, its who I am! Although if you catch me on a bad day, maybe I won't be so nice! :)

I've been thinking a lot about this blog. I don't really see it as being too nice. I see it as you are blessed with patience and manners and integrity that this society has lost. I do a lot of the same things that you do. Being nice might not get your far, But you are not only showing the world how they should act, you are showing your children how they should act. It's hard to find others like you, but I truly believe that if you were to stop being 'nice' that they will win. And the world would be a much sadder place. Keep that smile bright. And when you find another 'nice' person, keep them close by your side. Soon us 'nice' people will take over the world.
ReplyDeleteI understand feeling like a doormat sometimes. Those are the things that you need to delete from your memory instantly. I've learned that with certain people, I just say no, because I know they will step on me. Weed out the bad and keep the good.
